Glen Park Community Centre has a range of services available which address need and promote a healthy, inclusive and connected community - free from poverty, isolation and injustice. 

Community Support Services / Resources

Free Community Meals

Cafe on the Park host monthly Community Meals, for all members of our community who may be experiencing homelessness, social isolation or food insecurity. Cafe on the Park provides a safe space for community members to connect and access a range of appropriate support services, networks, programs and opportunities.

Come down and enjoy a hot, nutiritous meal whilst getting to know your local community members.
Every 3rd* Wednesday of the month, meals served at 6:00pm and limited to 30 places.

Free Community Pantry

The Community Pantry was designed to provide relief to people experiencing extreme hardships such as homelessness and food insecurity so that vulnerable community members have access to food and material aid when they need it most. Glen Park's Social Enterprise Cafe - Cafe on the Park, works tirelessly to ensure your Community Pantry is stocked full of fresh fruit and vegetables, non-perishable items of food and personal hygiene items. 

Membership eligibility criteria applies:
- Resident in Bayswater, Bayswater North or Boronia
- Holder of current concession card (health care card, pension card etc)
- Homeless or at risk of being homeless
- Recipient of income support from Centrelink

Community Engagement Outreach Service

The Community Engagement Outreach Service is for the most vulnerable customers in the Community. 

Community Engagement Officers work in collaboration with community organisations to connect customers who are experiencing significant vulnerabilities. They provide an outreach service to increase customers' ability to self-manage their business with the department and pathways to employment and/or learning.

Immunisation Sessions

Every second month; excluding public holidays. Maroondah City Council’s Immunisation staff can:

  • Advise you on the “No Jab, No Pay” and “No Jab, No Play” legislation changes
  • Provide vaccinations as per the National Immunisation Program (6 weeks to 19 years)
  • Answer any immunisation question you may have (excluding travel vaccine information)

You will need to bring your Medicare card and any immunisation history or record for each child. Please call (03) 9294 5627 to make an appointment to put your child’s immunisation history or record on the central register or create a catch up schedule for any child between 0 and 19 years of age.

Parents Beyond Breakup

Dads in Distress and Mums in distress provides specialised peer support & referral network to parents going through the trauma of family breakdown. Dads in distress runs every Tuesday from 7.00pm - 9:30pm from 08/01/2019 - 18/12/2019 and Mums in distress runs Tuesday from 9:30am -11:00am (All Tuesdays except 10/12/2019 till centre close)

Did you know we have the Victorian Public Tenants Association come down to Glen Park - There next visit here to assist you is on the 3rd of December 2019.

The Victorian Public Tenants Association (VPTA) is the peak body representing public housing tenants, and people on the waitlist.

If you need help to talk to Housing, or you have a question about housing, call free on 1800 015 510 Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm or email enquiries@vpta.org.au.

Buried Treasures

Buried in Treasures is a peer support group that helps people overcome issues with over acquiring of items.

Everyone in the group has a lived experience with over acquiring of items, so there's absolutely no judgement. Come along and let Andrea help you through your journey.

Every second Wednesday from 12:00pm - 2:00pm from
06/02/2019 - 11/12/2019.
