Welcome to Glen Park

Glen Park Community Centre is a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment for everyone in the community.

Our mission is to create a strong, connected community - free from poverty, isolation and injustice, where every person has access to food, housing, social and economic participation, lifelong learning and support.

We’re a member of Learn Local - a network of over 300 not-for-profit organisations across Victoria offering adult community education and training to people from all walks of life. We are one in over 400 Neighbourhood Houses located throughout Victoria. Glen Park opens its doors to approximately 800 people per week, provides programmed services to an average of 156 people per week and the Centre is used by the community at least 48 hours per week.

Glen Park is home to a successful registered Social Enterprise cafe; Cafe on the Park, offering delicious meals, catering, training and volunteering opportunities. More importantly, Cafe on the Park is the driving force behind our Emergency Relief Program; P.O.W.E.R and facilitates the distribution of 1250kgs of food per month to some of our most vulnerable Victorians.

We are very proud of the service Glen Park Community Centre provides in the community and encourage you to support the Centre by enrolling in a class, eating in the cafe or becoming a member.

Glen Park's Community Value equates to $5.46 for every $1 of income. Now, that is a pretty good return on investment, don't you think?

Opening Notice

The Victorian Government has announced that Victoria's lock down will end at 11:59pm on Tuesday 27th July 2021.

Glen Park Community Centre and Cafe on the Park will reopen at 8:30am on Wednesday 28th July, and will recommence our regular operating hours. 

We hope to see you soon!

Free Community Pantry

The Community Pantry was designed to assist the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our local community. Glen Park's Social Enterprise Cafe - Cafe on the Park, works tirelessly to ensure your Community Pantry is stocked full of personal hygiene items, perishable and non-perishable items of food, such as fresh fruit, veggies, bread, meat, eggs and so much more.  

The Community Pantry will be operating on a fortnightly basis in 2021. For a full list of Community Pantry dates, please contact the office on (03) 9720 5097 or office@glenparkcc.com.au 

Membership eligibility criteria applies:
- Resident in Bayswater, Bayswater North or Boronia
- Holder of current concession card (health care card, pension card etc)
- Homeless or at risk of being homeless
- Recipient of income support from Centrelink

If you don't fall into the abovementioned eligibility criteria but still need access to the pantry and believe you should be eligible, please let us know by contacting us on (03) 9720 5097, dropping in and having a chat or sending us through an email.

What You Need to Know

Glen Park's "Hungry 4 Success - Training" program has commenced for it's 7th intake, with 9 incredible participants! If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in this highly sought after program for any future intakes, please contact the office to register your interest. Places are limited, waitlists may operate.

Cafe on the Park's "Hungry 4 Success - Catering" service has been suspended due to the currrent lockdown in Victoria, but don't worry, we'll be back to serving you delicious and fresh meals in no time! Catering with a conscience; for every dollar you spend on your catering order, you are providing $5.46 worth of emergency relief to vulnerable members of your community. We are helping people in our community apply for the $250 Power Saving Bonus. This is a one-off payment to help you with the cost of living. To be eligible, someone in your household must have a pensioner concession card or receive JobSeeker, Austudy, Abstudy or Youth Allowance. Free Community Meals

Cafe on the Park are back hosting our monthly FREE Community Meals for all members of our community in 2021. Come down and enjoy some food, create friendships and help promote social inclusion.

The Community Meals will happen on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Meals are served at 6:00pm sharp and are limited to 30 places, bookings are not necessary. 

The Community Meals are prepared by a fully qualified chef with over 27 years' experience in the hospitality industry. Our meals are nutritious and DELICIOUS! When you attend our Community Meals, you can be sure to enjoy a warm meal and engage in fun coversations, while getting to know other community members, as well as our staff and volunteers.
